Sweet Kudumulu for Ganesh Chavithi

Rice flour - 1 cup.
Luke warm - 1/2 cup.
Salt - to taste.
Chana dal - 1/2 cup.
Jaggery(grated) - 3/4 cup.
Almonds - 1 tablespoon.
Cashew nuts - 1 tablespoon.
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tea spoon.
Ghee - 2 tablespoons.


Take rice flour and add little luke warm water to make a dough with salt in it.

Mash boiled chana dal and add some jaggery, almonds, cashew nuts, cardamom powder, ghee and mix it nicely.

Make small dumplings with the rice flour and make small puri’s with hands.

Now keep the stuffing mixture one side and seal it by folding and applying water to the edges.

Steam it in a steamer for 15 minutes.

Remove the lid and serve hot with little ghee on it.


Sweet kudumulu is a traditional South Indian dish which is prepared with rice flour, chana dal and jaggery during ganesh chaturthi and other festivals.
