-2 cups whole wheat flour
-1 cup crumbled paneer
-1 onion, finely chopped
-1 green chili, finely chopped
-1/2 tsp cumin powder
-1/2 tsp coriander powder
-1/4 tsp turmeric powder
-1/4 tsp red chili powder
-Salt to taste
-Oil for cooking
- In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour and salt with enough water to form a soft dough. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it is smooth and pliable. Cover the dough and set it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix the crumbled paneer, chopped onions, green chili, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt to taste.
- Divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls. Take one ball and roll it out into a small circle. Place a spoonful of the paneer mixture in the center of the circle.
- Bring the edges of the dough together to cover the paneer mixture and form a ball. Flatten the ball slightly and roll it out into a circle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Heat a tawa or griddle on medium heat. Place the rolled out paratha on the tawa and cook for a minute or two on one side. Flip the paratha over and cook for another minute or two on the other side.
- Drizzle a little oil over the paratha and spread it around the edges. Flip the paratha over and repeat with the other side. Cook until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the paratha from the tawa. After removing the paratha from the tawa, serve it hot accompanied by yogurt, pickle, or chutney.
