Navratri Special - Chestnut Burfi

-1½ cups water chestnut flour
-3/4 cup ghee
-1/4 cup almond flour
-1 cup desiccated coconut
-1 cup milk
-1½ cups sugar
-1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
-Almonds to sprinkle


- Heat ghee, water, and chestnut flour in a pan over medium heat until golden brown.

- Add almond flour and desiccated coconut; cook for 2-3 minutes. Pour in milk and sugar, and cook until thick.

- Stir in green cardamom powder. Transfer the mixture to a greased tray, spread it evenly, and sprinkle almonds on top. Allow it to cool.

- Cut into squares before serving.


Chestnut flour is an excellent source of dietary fiber with about 12 g per 100 g. Dietary fiber is resistant to digestion.
